Executive Retreats

Executive Retreats for owners and their leadership teams

Step away from the business. Decompress. Come back with the next level in focus. The Rubicon gives the CEO four days in Moab to reset and return with the vision. The Leadership Team Retreat takes your whole team off site to align and build the next quarter together.

Why step away

Some things you only see from the outside.

Inside the week, the urgent work comes first. Bids go out, jobs get built, deadlines get met. The bigger questions, like where the company goes next and what it will take to get there, need more room than a Tuesday gives them. A retreat takes you far enough out of the week to rest, see the whole company from the outside and decide what comes next, so the next quarter goes to what grows the company.

Two formats

The vision for the next level. A whole team aligned behind it.

The Rubicon

Four days in Moab's canyon country to reset, see the business from the outside and come back with the vision for the next level.

The highest level of service we offer. Slickrock by day, working sessions with Michael at the overlooks, a private ranch under the red rock at night. You come home with a clear head, the big decisions made and the plan for the next chapter of the company and your life, ready to bring to your leadership team.

You leave with

  • A real reset, and a clear head.
  • The vision for the next level, on one page.
  • The big decisions made.
  • The next quarter's priorities, each with an owner and a date.
  • A plan ready to bring to your leadership team.

The Leadership Team Retreat

Your leaders, off site, working on the business together.

Your leadership team steps away from the job together. Time to reset as a team, then working sessions that align everyone on where the company is going and build the next quarter to get there. Every leader goes home owning their area, their numbers and their next moves.

You leave with

  • The quarter's priorities, agreed by the whole team.
  • An owner and a date on every commitment.
  • Handoffs between lanes worked through face to face.
  • A team that has spent real time together away from the pressure of the week.

The shape of it

Step away. Decompress. Build.

  1. Step away.

Leave the business behind. Phones go quiet, and the week stops reaching you.

  2. Decompress.

Rest first. Clear thinking comes after the pressure drains out.

  3. Build.

Set the direction, make the big decisions and write the next quarter's plan, starting from the real numbers.

Every retreat ends with a plan your team can run the following Monday.

Retreats we've hosted

The decompress part is real.

Michael has hosted retreats for teams and groups across the US, from Disney and the Ozarks to Vermont and Florida. One team came back for a second retreat. They cooked meals together, played laser tag and had a blast. Rest first, then the work goes better.

How a retreat comes together

From your application to a plan on Monday.

  1. 1 · ApplyTell us about your company and the format you want.

A short application, then a qualifying call with our team to make sure a retreat is the right tool for this quarter.

  2. 2 · PlanSet the goals, the people and the place.

A planning call covers the questions on the table, who comes and the destination. The Rubicon has set dates, with others by request; team retreats are scheduled with you.

  3. 3 · GoStep away, decompress, build.

The agents bring the scorecard and the open items, so the working sessions start from real numbers, not memory.

  4. 4 · Back to workThe plan in writing the next morning.

Every decision goes out with an owner and a date, and the weekly rhythm carries it from there.

How it fits

One quarterly session, two ways to run it.

Every quarter, True Living OS clients choose how to run their quarterly session. Our team comes to your company for an Onsite Session with the leadership team, the leadership team steps away together, or the CEO takes The Rubicon, four days in Moab to reset and come back with the vision for the next level. Whichever you choose, it's where the Grow step happens. You check whether the bottleneck has moved, set the targets your leaders run against for the next three months and decide what to work on next.

Questions about the retreats.

Is a retreat a vacation or a working session?

Both. The first part is for decompressing. The rest is for working on the business and building the plan.

Where do the retreats happen?

The Rubicon runs in Moab, Utah, with other destinations by request. For a team retreat, we choose the destination with you.

How long is a retreat?

The Rubicon is four days. A leadership team retreat is set with you, based on what the quarter needs.

Who comes on a team retreat?

The owner and the leaders who own the lanes, with the True Living team. The people whose decisions move the scorecard are the people who come.

When are retreats scheduled?

The next set dates for The Rubicon are October 19 to 22, 2027, and other dates are available by request. Team retreats are scheduled with you on the planning call.

What if we'd rather stay at the office?

Choose an Onsite Session for that quarter. Our team comes to your company and runs the quarterly session in your building.

What does it cost?

It depends on the format, the length and the destination. We cover it on the qualifying call.
